Kids Make Fathers Day Crafts with love.

kiddy crafty

There is nothing more special to receive than something personally made. Its fathers day on June 21st, so here are some ideas for the mums out there, or anyone else! that want to get the kids involved and for the dads out there to receive something that they know their kids have taken time out from their day to make.

What will you be making for your dad this year? Im sure that your dad will appreciate whatever you take the time to make or give. I understand that not everyone has the time to do a full craft from scratch (me included sometimes!) so even if you only have the time to make a cupcake or perhaps only the time for a chocolate bar and a card, make sure you tell your dad that you love him and you appreciate him, after all its not about the gifts, its about you taking the time to say, ‘hey dad, thanks for being you!’

Crafts for Dad to do for Mothers Day

Crafts for Dad

Its Mothers Day in the UK this Sunday, there is nothing more meaningful than receiving something that is made from the heart. It might look a bit messy, it might not look like what its meant to but knowing that its from your little one im sure means the world.

So i thought of getting some ideas together of crafts for dad to do with the kids in surprise ready for mum to open on Sunday.

What do you think? Id be over the moon to receive any of these gifts and knowing my little one and her dad had taken the time to do them together would make them even more special.

Handprint Pillow

I love how simple this is to make, follow the instructions on the fabric paint bottle and thats its!  A great memento to keep, you dont have to do a bed pillow for this you could also do cushions or how about a memory blanket with all your kids handprints or potential future kids 🙂

Coffee Filter Rose

Children can try making this pretty coffee filter rose for Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day – it’s so pretty, who wouldn’t be happy to receive it!

Coffee Filter Rose

You will need:

3 coffee filter papers
Red paint
Green chenille stem

Instructions:

Water down the paint (approx 4 parts water to one paint). Paint the filter papers. Let dry (you can speed things up by drying out in the oven on a very low heat for a few minutes).

Trim two of the filter papers so you have three different sizes. See photo below.

Fit the smaller two papers inside the largest. Open out into a cone shape and twist the bottom to form a point. Wrap the chenille stem around this to hold the papers together. Leave the other end of the chenille stem loose to be the flower stem.

5 Valentines Day love tokens made by kids.

kiddy crafty- crafts and art

I dont think Valentines Day should be all about the love between a couple i think Valentines should be more about being happy and friendly and letting it be a day about showing others that we care for them and love them.

So here are some ideas to inspire you to show some love towards others and how much they mean to you, these are also child friendly so little ones can feel they are playing a part as well.

1. Reasons I Love Grandma cards.

preschool valentine craft for parents

This particular preschool Valentine craft would be great in a preschool classroom, as it could be easily made into a 5 Reasons I Love Mama card.  Who wouldn’t love to receive one of those?!

See how this is made here.

2. Long Distance Hug

This year I wanted to send long distance family members a special Valentine from our girls, but I wasn’t sure what.

I measured the arm spans of both girls and cut ribbon the same length (C and I did some comparing with the 2 sizes and measured with the tape measure)

I helped the girls paint hand prints, I cut them out and glued onto the ends of the ribbon.

The grandparents, both near and far, enjoyed receiving their special hugs.

3. Frozen Olaf Valentines

Ever since we saw Disney’s Frozen on the day of a huge blizzard, my kids have been singing the songs 24/7 (and so have I)!  It was such a magical movie.  It’s no wonder my kids want to give Frozen Olaf Valentines!

Because the first version of this treat involves cutting marshmallows in half, I made a version that looks like Olaf, and a version that is a little more give-away friendly.

4. Heart Shaped Rice Krispies

I love delighting my children with special seasonal treats. These Heart-shaped Rice Krispie Treat Pops took less than an hour to prepare. It’s a perfect and fun recipe for a busy mom like you! I had them wrapped and ready for school lunch boxes in fifteen minutes!
